A well-trained team

<br />

Translyre is a well-known operator in the world of agricultural machinery. The company, created in 1995, specializes in transport, ensuring the delivery of 5,300 pieces of equipment each year: tractors, self-propelled harvesting machines and various equipment (haymaking, spreading, tillage, etc.). Translyre operates in France and Belgium. Vincent Cochin joined the company in 2020. The young man holds a BTS in Agricultural Equipment Engineering (GDEA). He previously worked in an agricultural concession.

If he chose Translyre, it is not to convert into a heavy goods vehicle driver, but to continue to exercise his profession as a specialized technician. Indeed, he has joined the team of fitters that the carrier has put in place since 2019 as part of a new offer offered to manufacturers and dealers: complete assembly before delivery of equipment arriving in kit form from their manufacturing plant. based abroad.

Following the manufacturer's procedure is the key word

“We work in a 1,100 m² building, recently extended by 2,900 m2, dedicated to assembly and storage, explains Vincent Cochin. For some equipment, such as wide rakes, for example, it is important to have plenty of space to move around. The team has several handling equipment such as a telescopic loader, a forklift, jib crane for work at height, lifting tables. »

Translyre has agreements with various international brands well established in France. Each partnership begins with the provision of a few machines by the manufacturer in order to train fitter technicians under the supervision of a brand manager. “The equipment arrives on pallets, or disassembled into sub-assemblies,” says Vincent. The first step consists of a very meticulous check on unpacking to ensure that the package is complete and that no element has received any shocks during transport. After the control comes the stripping of the machine, each part or accessory is placed on trolleys or assembly table. Everything is done to facilitate the work of the fitter. All screws and bolts are placed on a preparation table provided for this purpose. For his part, the assistant fitter removes the crates, pallets, plastics, etc.

The assembly can finally begin in a clean, bright environment, large enough to carry out quality work. We then follow the step-by-step constructor procedure. »

Functional tests and settings

Each step is important: cleaning and lubricating the elements before fixing, filling the oil pans, touching up the paint if necessary. The team has an electric torque wrench connected to a tablet. For each bolt, the tightening torque is calibrated according to manufacturer recommendations and all operations are automatically recorded.

When the machine is delivered, the customer receives a report detailing the number of tightenings carried out and the torque used. This provides him with an additional guarantee of compliance with the manufacturer's instructions.

“When the assembly is finished, we carry out functional tests, in particular on the moving parts, explains Vincent. We also have a mobile hydraulic unit which is used to fold and unfold the elements. On equipment equipped with an electronic console, such as fertilizer spreaders, we also configure the components with our own cases and consoles. For large equipment, such as mowers, we carry out tests with a tractor in a real situation.

After these final checks, the equipment is washed and then prepared for transport. Some accessories are firmly attached, the mower covers are held in place to prevent damage, etc. Depending on the forecast, it leaves immediately on one of our trucks or it remains in stock with us for a while, until the dealer confirms the place of delivery.

My objective is to put my knowledge at the service of this new activity, concludes Vincent, and to progress with new materials and equipment. This job confirms my professional choice and Translyre places its trust in me. »
